Ecuador is the world’s fourth country in diversity of birds. Yet it is much smaller and more accessible than any of the top three. It is the only country to combine the megarich Tumbes and Chocó Endemic Bird Areas (EBAs, as defined by Birdlife International).
Furthermore, the east slopes of the Andes and the Amazon lowlands offer yet another suite of bird species, most not found in the west of the country. And all of it can be reached within a few hours from Quito.
Little wonder that Ecuador has become such an important stop for the world birder. With more and more birders crossing our borders, excellent infrastructure and service exists for the international traveler.
All of our tours are accommodated at comfortable lodges that understand the needs of birders and are situated in excellent birding habitat. |
