The Jungle Birders are the guides from Sani Isla in Ecuador’s Amazonian lowlands.

Sani Isla is a small Kichwa community on the River Napo. As Ecuador has grown as a world birders’ must-stop destination, so has the reputation of the native guides of Sani Isla as the most naturally talented birders anywhere. When international bird tours come to Amazon, it is often the natives of Sani Isla who spot those puffbirds and roosting owls..

Many Sani Isleños have gone on to become acclaimed tour leaders for international agencies. We have started to bird further afield and learned the birds in every corner of Ecuador.
Now we think it’s time to start running our own tours.
